Why did Apple discontinue iTunes

Why did Apple discontinue iTunes?

  • The future of iTunes, Apple's venerable media player, has been contested for a while, especially after the 2015 launch of Apple Music.
  • With the release of Apple's newest operating system, macOS Catalina, iTunes is being phased out and replaced with three apps.
  • Gift cards and store credits from the iTunes store are still good and used in the new standalone apps or the App Store

With the release of Apple's newest operating system, macOS Catalina, iTunes is being phased out and replaced with three apps: Apple Music, Apple Podcasts, and Apple TV. Here is all you need to know if you use iTunes and are concerned about how the app's removal would affect your music, backups, programs, and other stuff. Users can import any playlists made in iTunes into Apple Music. Additionally, people using Mac, iOS, PC, and Apple TV can still buy music from the iTunes store.
Gift cards and store credits from the iTunes store are still good and used in the new standalone apps or the App Store. All Apple gadgets, including iPhones, iPads, and iPods, may now be backed up in Finder. The content you bought, rented, or stored can be transferred to the new Apple TV app. All podcasts imported or subscribed to through iTunes will be transferred to the new Apple Podcasts app. Simply put, the new app will not impact your media library. The only thing that will change is how you access it. Similar to how they are on the iPhone, separate standalone apps will be available for accessing music, podcasts, TV, apps, and other content.

How will my Devices Sync?

You will manage and sync your Apple devices in Finder, Apple's default file manager and graphical user interface shell. There are no changes to your applications. Your software will be purchased, updated, and controlled in Finder once MacOS Catalina is released!

Why did iTunes stop working?

Your iTunes media library is now accessible in the Apple Music app, Apple TV app, and Apple. It lets you manage and sync the content on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch in the Finder.

App for Every Media Type

The Apple Music app, Apple TV app, Apple Podcasts app, and Apple Books app is the dedicated apps that organize your music, videos, podcasts, and audiobooks in macOS Catalina. If you have a PC, you may continue to manage your media library, buy things, and manually sync and manage your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch using iTunes for Windows.
